Make A Difference Monday

I am so sorry.
I let my little adventure
of Make A Difference Monday slide.

Well...time to pick up the pieces on that.
I may only be able to post a quote,
but I do promise
that I will have something uplifting
for your Monday reading.

So what brought me back to this?
Well, I was working in my yard today.
I was the only one outside all day,
so I had my much needed
'alone' time.
I started pondering my life
and where it's headed....
what I need to change....
where I want to go....
how I want to live my life....
if this were my last day on earth,
have I lived my life so people will remember
the good things I did?
(yes...I really do think about that)
...all while playing in the dirt.
:o)

I was thinking of our previous pastor from church.
There was a quote he always shared:

"I am only one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything,
but I can do something.
And I will not let what I cannot do
interfere with what I can do."
~Edward Everett Hale~

I love this quote.

I am such an 'all or nothing' person.
This quote helps simplify life,
don't you think?

I don't have to do everything.
But I can do something.

So today,
today was for me.
(Yes, I skipped church...thank you, Lisa, for picking Twyla up for me!)
And it helped me get my head back on straight.
I will keep this quote in the forefront of my mind
to remind me I don't have to 'do it all'.
I can do that small something,
if that's all the time and/or energy I have.

I can't be every one's leaning post,
but I can be there for the person that needs me the most at the moment.
I can't always keep my house spotless,
but I can take 15 minutes to take care of the worst problem spot.
I can't always take 30 minutes to exercise at one time,
but I can do 10 minutes here or there.

If I break things down,
I can take care of the most important things,
and handle the rest later,
if the day is too much to tackle it all.
The point is to do something instead of nothing.
Right?

Here's a (((BIG HUG))) for all of you!
I hope you have a fabulous Monday!
xoxo
Cindy
