she posted a freebie pattern today
that is so cute and simple,
I was chomping at the bit to get out of work early to make it!
Just click this link

Here's the fabric I have cut and ready to put together.

Another fun event I'm participating in is the Triple Zip Along

I've been wanting to give these pouches a try,
so this is the perfect opportunity.

I think the fabrics & zippers I have picked out here will
make a cute pouch.

One more thing you might be interested in
is my friend, Stephanie,
is participating in a blog hop
and having a giveaway on the neatest quilt pattern.
I am so in love with it that if I don't win it,
I am purchasing it for sure.

Introducing Beatrice

Hey All!

Can I just say that I had the best day EVER today?

I worked a couple hours this morning
and took the rest of the day off.

I hurried up and got my cleaning done
and have been spending the rest of this gorgeous,
sunny day in my sewing room.

What a treat!

I worked on this month's project

Amy Made That! eamylove

This month we are creating adorable pin cushions!

I would like to introduce you to Beatrice.

You know me and my bling.
I can't help it.
With a name like Beatrice,
a gal needs some bling.
She kind of looks like a penguin, doesn't she?

When I was pinning her all together, she was looking like a porcupine!

I'm pretty darn happy with the end result.
Especially since I used my scraps.

And now she proudly displays my princess pins!

If you haven't joined the Across the Pond Sew Along yet
there's still plenty of time!

What did you do for fun today?

Anita Vacation? I DO!

You may or may not remember when I made
this lovely tote for the Across the Pond Sew Along.
(which is now proudly displayed in my blog heading)

It's the Anita Vacation tote designed by

Well, I am just not going to lie to you..
This tote is so fun to make,
that I had to make another one.

Ta Da!

Why did I have to make another one, you ask?
Well, I gave the first one away.

But now I have to make a third one.
Why, you ask again?
Because I gave this one away.

But never fear.
This WILL result in me making a fourth one.

Again? Why?
Because I'm giving the third one away.

If you would like to join this madness with me,
you can find the pattern

But I am not responsible
for what happens after you download
this awesome PDF pattern.

Just sayin....

Pin Cushions, Sachet & More!

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth,
I promise!

I did manage to get  a few
small sewing projects in these past couple weeks.

I little while ago,
I won a giveaway from my friend, Stephanie, of
She shared some lavender
and fabric to make this cute little sachet.

I have it in my 'special' drawer.  :)
It makes me smile every time I open the drawer.

My sister and I have a very good friend
who has a daughter we love to death!

They thought it would be fun to do an ornament exchange.
I had Emma
(our friend's daughter),
so it wasn't hard for me to come up with an ornament for her.
I looked through my stash and fussy cut a piece
from Simple Life by Tasha Noel
and took some embellishments
and a pretty aqua fabric and made this

The four bells represent each of us 'girls'.
Here's a little close up for you.

I stamped her name on it,
in case she ever forgets what it is.
(you know how it is when you get older)

I got the idea for the ornament
from some Zakka pin cushions I made
using linen and Penelope by Holly Holderman
(I am so in love with this fabric!)

I used crushed walnut shells to fill
the pin cushions.
I love those so much better then
the stuffing you purchase in bags.
They have a much better feel to them.

Here's another look from the other side.

And I'll be dipped,
but I made another Anita Vacation Tote
(like the one in the picture in my blog heading).
I'll post pictures of that later this week,

I didn't want to overload you on all this crafty eye candy.

So there wasn't much sewing these past few weeks,
but it was something.

Sometimes those quick little projects are all it takes
to keep a smile on my face and the hair in my head.
(you KNOW what stress can do to a person's hair!)
More to come later in the week!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy 2013!

I have so many wishes for 2013.

The first is

I hope every day you find an overabundance of LOVE.

I wish you

I wish you inner peace
to help focus on what's needed
to make life better.

Continued health so you can conquer the world!

And finally
my favorite of all

An abundance of laughter
to remind yourself not to take life so seriously sometimes.
As they say,
no one gets out alive anyway,
so enjoy the ride!

Here's to making new friends,
continuing to nourish the old friendships,
and making life better every day!

And a few words of wisdom
to end this post with,
"The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese."

Happy 2013, All!
