Projects & Food!

Hello!  So right now I am in the middle of several different projects.  One is the Postage Stamp quilt along at
PS I Quilt.  I'm doing my quilt with Kate Spain's Central Park fabric line and LOVE it!

Another is the first ever Blogger's Block-A-Palooza (2 block instructions given...2 blocks completed)  I'm using Moda's new Sunkissed line for this.

And another project is the Birdie Stitches BOM over at Little Miss Shabby's place.  My block is ALMOST done and in my sewing room this very moment.  New instructions will be posted on Feb 1st and I WILL be done by then, but I had to let you know I was working on it!  :o)

And something REALLY fun is I'm participating in a doll quilt swap from another blogger friend.  Christine is hosting this awesome event and I am VERY excited about my partner, Kris.  She's from Australia and that thrills me to pieces!!  I have some ideas on how I'm going to do this quilt and can't wait to get started!

And for fun, if you're not into sewing, here's a new recipe you can try!

I got this from The Pioneer Woman Tasty Kitchen.  If you haven't visited this site yet, I highly recommend it!

Breakfast Bites
  • 12 whole Eggs
  • ⅔ cups Milk
  • ¼ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 4 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Parsley, Dried

Preparation Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400ºF.
2. Brown the bacon and crumble or chop it into smallish pieces.
3. Beat together the eggs, milk, pepper, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Use a 4-cup measuring cup if you have one. This will make for easier pouring later.
4. Spray a 12-count muffin tin generously with vegetable oil spray.
5. Divide the egg mixture among the muffin tins.
6. Sprinkle the bacon on top.
7. Bake at 400ºF for 20-25 minutes.
8. Cool in the pan for about 5 minutes and then remove from the pan. I had to use a plastic knife to help the process along.
9. Enjoy hot from the oven, or let cool and store in the fridge.

Until the next adventure...have a great day!
xoxo

Giveaway and Other Goodies

By now you all know how much I love giveaways.  I think one day I will offer one up too!  That would be fun.

Right now my blogging friend, Melissa, from A Hundred Billion Stars is doing a giveaway of one of her gorgeous Note Pad Holders.  And they are wonderful!  You can check out the giveaway here for a chance to win your choice of one of these:

I love her items and her blog is just as lovely.  Plus she loves animals.  :o)  She also has an Esty shop with some pretty cool things.

I have to say that I have really met some awesome people thru blogging.  Along with Melissa, I've met my Midwest buddy, KarrieLyne, my special Fabric Fascination friend, Kym and I can't forget my Aussie friends, Christine and Wendy.  As for Australia, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers with all the horrific flooding that's taking place.  Both Christine and Wendy have information on their blogs to help our fellow crafters.  There's a group of us getting things together to ship.  I can't even imagine.

I hope you all have a great day!  I'm planning on getting a lot of sewing done this weekend.  It's cold and snowy outside, which always makes for a good day of quilting.  Make sure to go visit the blogs I've listed.  You'll enjoy them!

And More Christmas Projects...

So I couldn't leave out these fun little items.
The majority of the fabric was purchased from
I HIGHLY recommend this shop!
Her fabric is wonderful.
Prices are affordable.
And she gives very useful gifts
when you purchase something from her.
You definitely will NOT be disappointed!
I made Poochie Bags with matching mug rugs (I think I'm
really into those! LOL) for the adults and Poochie Bags
and a pillowcase for the younger gals.  You can
get Happy Zombie's free Poochie Bag pattern here.

And of course, I had to make little Holiday Happy Gnoma's!
These went in the Poochie Bags as well.

I made them into pot holders.
I'm in LOVE!

And last, but not least, here's another pillowcase I made
as a gift for a very wonderful college girl.
This fabric was also bought from
So this was my busy sewing season!
I hope you enjoy viewing them
as much as I did making them!

My Christmas Projects

So here is the Christmas present I made my friend, Kathy.
I'm happy to report she loved it!
And I loved it so much I think I will make one for myself! :o)
The fabric was purchased at The Cottage Rose

You know when you have those little strips left from
cutting your fabric to the correct size after
sewing them together?  I hate to toss them in the
trash, so I wanted to use them for something
fun that would go with the runner I was giving Kathy.

So I took them and cut a 3" x 9-1/2" pc from it.

Then I matched it up to the remaining row to see where
I wanted it to fall.  Then I cut the other piece the same size
and sewed the rows together

After I was done sewing the rows together, I
cut them to 5 x 9 inch rectangles

Then I dug in my scraps to find a piece that would look
good for the back.

And then put a scrap piece of batting in between
and quilted them.

Then trimmed it to size and put some binding on...Wa La!
A nice little matching mug rug.
So normally I put the binding on by hand.but I wanted
to try a decorative stitch on my machine.
Not so sure about it, but it's
wearing on me.  :o)

 And  here is the back!
Not perfect, but she did love it,
which made me very happy.

And here is a baby quilt and matching pillow I did
for my cousin's little baby. She will be a year
old next month.
Yep.
I'm a little behind.
:o)

Happy New Year and More!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
I just know that 2011 is going to bring us all kinds of goodies!!
Some days you may have to look around to find them, but I promise
every day there will be something good!

So, there are three things I've committed to do this year.
One is the Blogger's Block-A-Palooza.
The other is Birdie Stitches
Little Miss Shabby is designing and hosting this adorable project.

Can I just tell you that I am so excited to do this?  She even posts links to
show how the stitches are done.  Tweet!  I mean, Sweet!  LOL

My embroidery leaves a bit to be desired, but something
I've always wanted to improve on.
I thought this would be the perfect project
to help achieve that goal.

The last is a doll quilt swap.
Sign up's are just beginning, so if you're interested
hop on over here to be included.
I  hope you do!
The more the merrier!

I hope your 2011 started out with some
creative ideas!
