I Took the Plunge

I can't believe I did this.
I have been dreaming of a new sewing machine.

After a lot of looking around,
and reading,
and researching,
I decided on this beauty.

The Janome Horizon 7700

I went to my LQS yesterday,
(thanks to my sister for driving!)

I asked if they had any sort of layaway plan.

Actually, my sister asked.
My mind was so garbled that I couldn't get the words out of my mouth!
She could see I was struggling.
Spending this much money on just myself
makes me break out in a sweat.

So from now until July 1st,
I won't be buying any fabric.
I won't be buying any 'extras'.
I will be sending all my extra pennies
to my LQS so I can have this beauty paid for by July 1st.

If you're interesting in knowing why I picked this machine,
you can read about it

I'd love to hear what machine you have.

If you'll excuse me,
I have to take another shower.
Thinking about the $$$ again
is making me break out is a sweat.

xoxo
Cindy

Eeeeeeeeeek! Congratulations on your new baby - I didn't even know you were expecting it! If anyone deserves a dynamite machine, it would be you, Cindy! Have a wonderful time learning all the stuff it can do! I drive a Pfaff 2040 that I bought 12 years ago, and I still remember how exciting it is to have a new sewing machine with fabulous features. Mine was the best investment of my life, and it still makes me happy.

Wow! How exciting. It's a good thing you had your sister along to make sure it happened. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Like Amy points out, it's an investment. Even if it's not a monetary one, it's certainly a huge investment in your happiness and mental health. Where would we be without our sewing time?!

Have fun getting to know this new addition!

I used one of these recently and it was fabulous. You're going to have so much fun with her and it'll be worth every penny.

I think something like this is still a couple of years away for me at the moment!

Congrats on your new "baby" Cindy. It will be like waiting for Christmas having to wait until July but it will be worth. For years I had a very cheap very basic machine which was on it's last legs. My husband came into some unexpected money and bought me my dream machine which was a Brother 3100D sewing and embroidery machine. I had wanted a new machine and had been saving up so to have it given to me was such a wonderful bonus.

Congrats on your new machine Cindy. I will be interested in hearing how you like it.

And not buying fabric for awhile will be good incentive for using your stash.

She's awesome!!! Your gonna love all those features.... you have to let me know if it goes through real thick things well.

And if you run out of stash fabric... let your sister check out your new machine, and while she is distracted and playing, sneak some out of her stash!!

Oh, my gosh! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! God, we are soul sisters. I also splurged on a new machine. I still have my Janome 6500, but I decided to also buy a Viking Ruby. They had a great trade in plan and 3 years interest free financing. I break out in a sweat when I think of it, too.
