Meet Hippy Monkey.
He watches over me as I sew.
Pretty cool eh?
:)
I only let the 'cool' people hang in my space.
I thought I better update you on the Secret Tote Swap
and let you know how it went.
If you remember I made this little goodie.
And included all these yummies in my package.
I had very little information to go on,
so I tried my best.
I don't think my partner loved the package, since I never heard from her,
which did make me feel bad,
but I gave it the good 'ol college try.
So if you are doing swaps, here are some lessons learned -
remember that the more information you provide
the more you will love what you receive!
Comment, a lot, on what others post.
That will give you partner a more in depth look at your likes and dislikes.
My partner didn't start commenting until 2 days prior to the ship date.
And the totes she absolutely loved,
weren't anything like the one I made.
By that time, it was too late for me to go back to the drawing board.
I didn't have a mosaic to go by either, which didn't help.
Just the little blurb in the form we had to fill out.
I did scope her Flickr profile,
which is how I figured out what 'extras' to put with her tote.
I was a winner though!
Here's the tote I received from Leona.
You can check out her blog
It's HUGE!
I have not doubt it will come in very handy.
I absolutely love everything about it.
I absolutely love everything about it.
So there's your lesson for the day.
:)
And once again,
it's time for me to get ready for work.
............Sigh...................
I hope you all have a fabulous day!
xoxo
Cindy

That tote will haul a lot of fabric! And is that Sis Boom yardage I see on your shelf? :)
Oh Cindy it is a bummer when you get a partner like that thank heavens they are not all the same you did a great job and boy you were lucky in return !!!would always love to be your partner :)))
i managed to do it twice !!!
Good reminder that if we're in a swap, we have to communicate what we like and our style. (I didn't see a crystal ball up there by your monkey!)
Any partner would be lucky to get something made by you, Cindy, and I hope you know that!

I think its really disappointing when the person you're making something for doesn't give you some sorts of clues. And frankly its just plain rude when they dont acknowledge your gift.
Ive been your swap partner and I adored every moment of the experience.
Love what you got in return though!
Great job. Cindy ... I think my biggest pet peeve in life is people not responded !!! It takes a arcing just to say thank you or no thank you ... That's it !! Can't get any simpler than that ! I find it happens a lot in "blog land" they say email or contact me and no response ! Your bag was fabulous along with the goodies !
You made a fantastic tote for your partner, and if it wasn't to her liking then its tough luck for her, we all know the rules of a swap - comment, comment, chat and take part, so if we don't abide by them then we get what we get and its tough if its not to our taste. I love what you received from your partner, she stalked you well!
I've been your partner too, and it was easy peasy to make something for you.
I just don't understand why some people even bother being in swaps, if they can't at the very least, give you an idea of what they like. How on earth do they expect you to send the perfect swap item if they are not prepared to get into the spirit of the swap and
it's just downright rude if they can't even say thank you.
I love the tote you made and wow you scored, didn't you, it's gorgeous.
